Broward County Code of Ethics and Oakland Park Code of Ordinances require lobbyists to register prior to communicating with elected officials, city advisory board or committee members, or City staff during the time of the entire decision making process.
A person who is retained, with or without compensation, for the purpose of lobbying; or a person who is employed by another person or entity, on a full-time or part-time basis, principally to lobby on behalf of that other person or entity who seeks any action, decision, recommendation of the elected officials, city advisory board or Committee members, or city staff during the time of the entire decision making process.
The following requirements apply to all lobbying activity.
There is no fee to register as a lobbyist with Oakland Park.
Once registered, the lobbyist must log in each lobbying activity as soon as possible, but no later than three (3) days following the lobbying activity.
